My interests focus on the adaptations by which the individuals of a species function in their environments. I am very interested in the evolutionary aspects of such adaptations, in particular in the debate sexual versus natural selection, and, therewith, competition (in animals).

Given a lifelong passion about birds, especially raptors, I very much enjoy studying the rare Australian endemic Grey Falcon, and this is what I have been doing since 2004. Comparing this species and its unusual ecology and behaviours with those of other raptors is fascinating, and this is what I am currently working on.
