My PhD research explores the effect of environmental factors on pollination and recruitment of the south-east Queensland endemic cycad, Macrozamia lucida. In particular, I’m interested in how changes in temperature and rainfall may affect the availability and survival of seeds/seedlings in the field, and the impact that early recruit survival may have on the geographic distribution of the species over time.

 

I hope that the insights generated by my research project on this species will be able to inform cycad conservation priorities more generally in the context of long-term environmental change.
